1. What was your favorite vacation location and how did you heard about it?
I think that my best vacation location ever Rio de Janeiro, o vacation that I had done this summer at the request of my girlfriend. Her big dream since she was child, when she saw at T.V. to go to Rio de Janeiro to se in person a real carnival. At first I did not wanted to go because I was not interested about it but to make my girlfriend happy I made this sacrifice only for her happiness. I heard of this location from my girlfriend who since she was little gathered the informations about this location. But now that I was there I do not regret a minute that I took this trip. I think that the carnival is Rio’s main event, and it happens at the peak of the summer when the Cariocas are at their best. And the feeling, the music vibrating and the landscapes can not described in words.
2. Did you travel alone or with your family/friends (how many) ?
I traveled with my girlfriend and some friends from her hometown, because she is not from London , altogether we were a big group, I think that if I remember well we were 17 persons.
3. How much time did you spend finding out information about this location and what resources did you use to do it (online sites/traveling agencies/friends).
It didn’t took me so long to search some informations about this location because I visited some online sites and there I found out all that my girlfriend wanted to know, from my home on the internet she made for all of us reservations, so this was her dream vacation and she planned everything.
4. Can you tell us the thing you like most in this place?
The thing that I liked most was that festivities attract thousands and thousands of people from all the corners of the world. And there even if I did not wanted to participate my girlfriend took me with her hands and she danced with me almost all day. First people gather at some well known spot, such a square , after a couple or more hours of concentration, the band starts marching its way down the streets. And for those, the drivers, who are caught in this march have nothing to do but to relax and to enjoy the moment. All these were great an d I think that I would like to do that again.
5. What were the bad/ugly sides of your vacation?
The bad side of this trip was definitely that there were so many people, and they pushed me from a place to another place, and that at the end of the day my feet heart like hell.
6. How was your room (did you had everything you need).
My room was perfect, we had everything we needed and most of all we had the perfect view- to the Cathedral and the center of Rio de Janeiro.
7. Did you take a digital camera (what model), a laptop or any other gadgets with you? (name of the gadget).
I took with me like everyone who came with us a camcorder, a Panasonic PV-GS 120 and of course my digital camera a Sony DSC U50 and in that moment I did not needed nothing else.
8. How were the people there (the reception and people you meet)
Everyone was very friendly and warm, I saw at the carnival old people and also children, every one was dancing, enjoying the moment and having the time of their life. these sightseeing were indescribable.
9. Did you make any new friends (are you still keeping in touch).
I did made some friends, the ones who came with us, one of my girlfriend’s best friends from her childhood. And I admit that at beginning I did not like them but now they are one of my best friends.
10. How did you spend your time? Did you participate in any recreational activities?
We stayed so little time, just for the carnival, so these days we spend them dancing and relaxing and laughing all was great. We participated to Rio’s main carnival and the most famous Samba Parade.
11. What places did you visited? (Museums, resorts, sport facilities)
I did not visited historic monuments or museums because we did not had time and because all the city was in the fewer of the carnival.
12. What other vacation location would you recommend to the public?
My recommendation to the public is all the capitals of the main cities of Europe like London ,Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Oslo and many others.
